Thomas Kruse trained originally as an architect, but was later an active painter, graphic artist and set designer. Since the 1960s he has been an active book illustrator and poster artist. From 1969 and for nine years on he was a member of a group of artists called Røde Mor (Red Mother). Thomas Kruse is a playful artist who enjoys working with children: he has decorated more than sixty schools together with the pupils. He works in a lively, imaginative and narrative style, with its own individual expression when he makes use of the lino-print so typical of his period. People and personal stories are always central in his posters, especially in political protest and campaign posters.
