Sven Henriksen

29.7.1890 – 25.12.1935

Sven Henriksen began designing posters in about 1910, after completing studies at the School of Technology in Copenhagen.

While working as a poster artist, Henriksen also made a name for himself as an organiser of exhibitions, and he produced a large number of posters for them. The other posters he produced focused primarily on tourism and the travel business, and he also made a number of posters for the tram services.

Characteristic of Sven Henriksen’s posters is his choice of simple and uncomplicated motifs combined with pure, bright and eye-catching colours. His work was strongly influenced by down-to-earth German advertising aesthetics.
