In the 1970s Michael Witte considered studying Political Science in Aarhus. He chose an artistic career, however, and became an author, travel guide and painter. He involved himself in student politics at an early stage, and continued from there in the world of politics. His posters clearly show his commitment and generally critical approach to society, blended with a good deal of spicy satire. Undoubtedly, the most famous of Mikael Witte's works is the pig pumped with penicillin from 1978. The agricultural non-government organisations obtained an injunction against it – which was lifted two years later by a judgment of the High Court.
